Flight
Flew By Scoot to Taoyuan Airport T1. Reached there 5.30am.
Airport Express (MRT) is not yet in operation. Last read, it will begin operation in March 2017.
Took KuoKuang bus 1819 from Airport T1 to Taipei Main Station. (1 hour journey, bus frequency is around 10/15mins)
Taipei Main Station
Collected HSR (High Speed Rail) tickets booked online at the main station. Get ready Reservation No. and Last 4 digits (MMDD) of DOB <-- same as the ID no. used when purchasing online.
If collecting at convenience stores, a small fee applies.
From Taipei Main Station, took 7.15/7.45am TRA train to Keelung, journey around 47mins.

1. KEELUNG CITY
is the 2nd largest seaport after Kaoshiung. It is one of the wettest and gloomiest cities in the world.
Keelung is the centre of Northern Taiwan's fishing industry, hosting hundreds of fishing ships, catching all kinds of fresh seafood from the sea.
Places to visit in Keelung
- Yehliu Geopark
- Peace Island
Yehliu Geopark - skipped this as we have wasted too much time finding the Keelung luggage storage.
Journey from Keelung station to Yehliu Geopark is around 40mins by bus 790.
Peace Island - Journey - 20mins bus ride from Keelung (Bus no. 102 / 101) in front of Keelung
station next to Yangming Oceanic Culture & Art Museum.
2. PEACE ISLAND
After alighting, gotta walk quite a distance, maybe around 15mins.. to reach entrance of Peace Island.
Follow the path around the park and you’ll come across the Cave of Foreign Words, a 20-meter-long
natural tunnel that pierces a small headland near the eastern edge of the park. Inside the cave
there is, some 17th-century graffiti left by the Dutch, who took over Fort San Salvador in the 1640s. A pity, we never get a chance to visit the cave....sigh....

3. MIAOKOU NIGHT MARKET
Only got a chance to try this oily rice (seems like glutinous rice) and crab soup.. not bad.
Have read about the delicious Butter Crab , but didn't get a chance to try it .... sigh....
4. Ruifang
From Keelung To Ruifang (accomodation)
Took TRA train from Keelung to Badu (2 stops away), changed platform, took train to Ruifang (3 stops away).

Stayed at Good Sleep B&B which was 2 minutes walk from Ruifang train station.
Directions to Good Sleep B&B
Once out of Ruifang train station, cross the road and walk right a few shophouses till you come across an electrical appliances shop. Enter this shop, to check in. The rooms are just beside this electrical shop.

- nice bathroom
- free : wifi, breakfast at a breakfast store nearby, free water dispenser, place to hang wet clothes, lift, free usage of washing machine
2 double beds
The small signboard , just below the bigger middle white vertical signboard (electrical shop) is the Good Sleep B&B.
There is a shop selling 'you tiao' (doughsticks) , soya bean milk, etc somewhere opposite Good Sleep B&B. 👍 Think it was still open at night/ evening.
